Steve Zmak has a new show airing this Thursday. Here’s the blurb:
West Coast Focus is a new TV talk show produced by Access Monterey Peninsula about West Coast Photography with Monterey County at its core: its legacy, its contemporaries, and its future. Once a month, each show will focus on a photographic theme, such as a local photographer, exhibit, institution, sub-genre, or work style. Steve Zmak, the show’s creator, will host 3 local photographers for a forum discussion on the show’s theme and other relevant photo topics of the day, and feature the photography of all the show’s participants. Viewers will see at least 100 photos per 1-hour episode! Photography enthusiasts will learn about the rich heritage this genre has in Monterey County and how it is being kept alive today. Many of the shows will include a prerecorded mini-documentary to introduce the theme of the day and kick off the panel discussion.
Photographer Richard Garrod’s influence on West Coast Photography is the topic for the first episode, sponsored by the Center for Photographic Art, on March 10. Join me and guests Jack Wasserbach, Tracy Valleau, and Barbara Moon Batista, with a special appearance by Bob Nielsen, and featuring Dick Garrod interview footage by Tracy Valleau.
